PCS-Move.com is a free resource for Navy, Air Force, and Army families planning a PCS move. We collect information to match you with vetted partner realtors, lenders, and moving companies — and to improve the site over time. This page covers exactly what we collect, why, and who we share it with. No legalese filler; if something we do isn't listed here, we don't do it.

What we collect

We collect this information when you sign up to use the AI Assistant or fill in any lead form on the site:

Email address — required, so we can reply and so partners can reach you when you ask for an introduction.
First name — optional, used to personalize replies.
Branch of service (Navy, Air Force, Other) — to scope partner matches.
New base— the duty station you're moving to.
Estimated Report Date — to time partner introductions correctly.
What you need— realtor, VA-loan lender, mover, insurance, or “just exploring.”

We also automatically log your browser user-agent string and a hashed version of your IP address when you sign up. The hash is one-way — we cannot recover the original IP. We use it only to detect duplicate signups and abuse.

The PCS Timeline Calculator and BAH Housing Budget tools run entirely in your browser. Your inputs to those tools are not transmitted to our servers and not stored anywhere.

Why we collect it

The site's business model is affiliate referrals. Partner realtors, lenders, and movers pay us a commission when a closed deal originates from a PCS-Move.com referral. To make those introductions, we need to know who you are, where you're moving, and what kind of help you're looking for. Everything we collect is in service of that matching.

Cookies

We set one cookie:

Session cookie (pcs_lead) — set when you sign up, used to keep you logged in to the AI Assistant. Expires 90 days from issue. Contains a random session ID, not your email.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or trackers.

Who we share it with

We share your information in three specific situations:

Vetted partners (paid introductions) — with the consent you give at signup, we share the information you provide (name, email, phone if given, branch, new base, Report Date, what you need) with vetted partner real estate agents, moving companies, and where applicable mortgage lenders so they can help with your move. These partners pay PCS-Move.com a fee for the introduction. This is how the site stays free. We only share with partners relevant to what you asked for, and you can withdraw this consent at any time.
Service providers we depend on— Supabase (database hosting), Vercel (web hosting), and Anthropic (the Claude AI model that powers the Assistant). These providers process your information only to operate the service; they don't use it for their own purposes.
Legal requirements — if compelled by valid legal process.

Sharing your information with a paid partner (above) may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under some state privacy laws — we describe it plainly so you know exactly what happens. We do not share your information with advertising networks or data brokers, and we do not share it with anyone outside the three categories above. If you want us to stop sharing your information with partners, contact us and we will honor it.

How long we keep it

We retain lead records for as long as is needed to complete the partner-matching cycle plus a reasonable follow-up window (typically 24 months from your Report Date). After that, records are either deleted or anonymized. You can request earlier deletion at any time.

Your rights

You can ask us, at any time, to:

Show you the information we hold about you
Correct inaccurate information
Delete your information
Opt out of partner introductions

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from children. PCS-Move.com is for active-duty servicemembers and dependents managing a relocation.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and note material changes on the homepage for at least 30 days. The current version always lives at this URL.
