The base, in brief

Naval Base Coronado is an umbrella command spanning NAS North Island (the airfield + carrier piers), Naval Amphibious Base Coronado (the Silver Strand amphib/SEAL base — its own page on this site), and several outlying sites. North Island home-ports Pacific Fleet carriers and the West Coast helicopter squadrons, with the maintenance and support commands that go with them.
